Volunteers from South Jones, Boggy and Southwest responded to a fire at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at 225 Arrington Road, where they found a single-wide mobile home with flames visible in about half of the structure. Firefighters immediately began a defensive fire attack and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to items near the home. No one was home at the time the fire started and no injuries were reported. The Jones County Fire Council thanked Covington County firefighters for rendering mutual aid.
